The Betrayal is an Irish drama from writer/director Kamila Dydyna, exploring themes of sexual identity and domestic violence.

Co-directed with IFTA-nominated Natasha Waugh (Terminal), produced by Driftwood Doll Films, shot by Gosia Zur, edited by Iseult Howlett, featuring Mark McAuley, Miriam Devitt & Kamila Dydyna in leading roles, the film premiered at the 24th GAZE International LGBT Film Festival in Dublin.

The film features music by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Conor Walsh, Ryan Vail, Andy Gillion & OCHO.

The Betrayal screened in festivals in Ireland and Canada, and earned Kamila Dydyna a Best Actress nomination at the Underground Cinema Awards in 2017. The film was broadcast on RTE in 2017 and 2019, and was featured in The Irish Times best TV programmes of the week.

Synopsis: Mark & Nel’s marriage is on the rocks. While Mark’s insecurity escalates into violence, Nel is questioning her feelings for her best friend, Alice.
